Immunisation is the safest and most effective way of providing protection for your child against a range of diseases including tetanus, whooping cough, measles and Hepatitis.

The benefits of vaccinations outweigh any risks of vaccinations, which are usually mild and self limiting such as mild fever following vaccination.

We follow the National Immunisation Program for both children and adults. We provide all the required immunisations with education and after a comprehensive health check We recommend you check your immunisations are up to date to protect you against a range of preventable diseases and infections.

Aged 4

Opportunistic assessment of developmental milestones is undertaken at the time of childhood vaccination at 2,4,6,12 and 18 months and at 4 years.

Aged 12

Vaccinations for Human Papilloma Virus, whooping cough and tetanus are introduced into the high school program. Hepatitis B and Chicken Pox catch up vaccinations can also be given at this time.

We encourage you to have your annual flu shot as the flu vaccine changes yearly to keep up with the most common strains. Vaccination from mid-April onwards is likely to result in peak immunity during the flu season.

Flu vaccines are also free for:

Pregnant women (a flu vaccine can be safely given at any stage of pregnancy)

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 6 months and older

Patients with chronic conditions or are severely immuno-compromised

There is no fee for the consultation, just the cost of the flu vaccine, if applicable.
