What is Telehealth
Telehealth is the ability to provide healthcare to you via telephone or video. With the current situation with COVID-19, it enables patients that are high risk, vulnerable or in lockdown to continue to access quality health from your doctor. It is currently being funded by Medicare, however this may change in the future.
We will continue to provide telehealth beyond this pandemic for those who may require it or choose it has an alternative to attending the clinic if it is deemed appropriate.
How does Telehealth work
At the time of booking your telehealth appointment please ensure your contact numbers and email address are correct. Your doctor will call YOU, so please ensure you have your phone available at the time of your scheduled appointment. Your doctor may be running late, so please do not be concerned if your doctor does not call at the exact time. Please note, the phone call may come from a private number.
You can book a video appointment via the booking App
After booking a Telehealth Video appointment, you will receive an automated message 5 minutes prior to their Video Consult
The message will include a unique link that you can simply click on
Or you can open your AMS Connect mobile app then click on the Telehealth Appointments button
and select Join Conference
In either case, the Video Consult will be opened automatically on your device. Depending on your device, you may be prompted to allow access to your camera and microphone, in which case you must select “OK” or “Allow”
- If the doctor has connected, the video consult will commence automatically on your screen and you will see the doctor.
- If the doctor has not connected, you will be advised that we are waiting for the doctor to join the conference.
